Consultation and Assessment

How do I know what is best for my child?

Initial Visit and Assessment Process:

  • Diagnostic Interview  & Comprehensive Evaluation
  • Required Assessment & Consultation

A learning evaluation measures students’ strengths and weaknesses in learning.

  • Post assessment meeting and recommendations:
What do the results mean? Based on the test results, what are the next steps?
How quickly should we address the problems?
  • Recommendations:
Structural Change (specific suggestions in lifestyle, habits, organization)
    Counseling / Coaching / Teaching

If you or your child’s teacher sees that your child may have trouble learning, you should probably pursue a learning assessment. BEFORE visiting THE LEARNING CENTER – ISTANBUL have your child’s hearning and vision tested. It may well be that they just need a hearing aid or a pair of glasses. If hearing and vision are fine, then the child should receive a learning assessment.

We administer the following academic assessments:
1. Early Reading Diagnostic Assessment (grade K-2).

This test provides information on the skills your child needs to develop to become a successful reader. The skills include phonemic and phonologic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.

2.Tests of Basic Skills (grade 1 – 12). best2.png.opt122x264o0,0s122x264

These tests assess whether your child is “on track” with his or her peers in the areas of reading, comprehension, spelling and math. Well-known standardized tests are used that  indicate your child’s abilities in comparison to peers in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and South Africa.

3. Speech and language assessments.
